The origins of floristry (flower arrangement) can be traced to ancient civilisation where flowers served religious and ritual purposes [1,2]. While floral design has been evolved through human techniques, the intersection of media art and floristry remains largely unexplored. This proposal aims to bridge that gap, not only by integrating art and floristry, but also by incorporating various interactive art media technologies to push the boundaries further. Our goal is to generate engaging and stimulating art experiences that reflect the cultural significance of flowers. We present a preliminary proposal of a potential floristry installation, which we plan to design and implement shortly, incorporating feedback received from this workshop. The two main research goals are: 1) Testing and validation of the use of robotic, interactive, and haptic devices in floristry art and 2) Systematically analysis of the cultural aspects of modern Australian floristry art, including the contributions of other cultures, such as Korean floristry practices.
